Computer ppl-- the "read" status changed, how can that happen!?

At first it said the email I sent was read at 7:39 pm , the next day it changed to 11:01 pm...how could the time it was read change?

I am not at all surprised since it is AOL. Totally unreliable for email. Insecure and non standard.
